Designed by Belmont landscape architect Elizabeth Gourley with input from Burbank teachers, students and parents, the 1600 square-foot garden will have a natural feel and playful “pockets of intrigue” to invite and engage children. The garden will feature a butterfly garden, a fairy ring play area, a Colonial herb garden, and a “Wetu” wigwam. Raised beds will provide opportunities for class planting projects. Rocks and perennial plantings will surround a central terraced gathering area and the main walking path.
The plants for the Garden Classroom have been carefully selected by Elizabeth Gourley, Landscape Designer, in consultation with the PTA Landscape Committee. We are unable to accept donated plants, but greatly appreciate your monetary donation towards the plant(s) you choose from this wish list. Thank you.
Finalized design layout, plan drawings, and materials specifications were provided by Michael White of Continuum Landscape Architects, serving as Project Manager
